Available for Playtesting!
Exporting Godot to Web Games
I didn't realize this would be a devlog in-and-of-itself, but here we are. Godot 4.2 (what we are building on) requires something called the SharedArraybuffer, and the TLDR is that macOS doesn't support it. The good news is that it appears to work when running Chrome on macOS. So we're getting somewhere.
"Sandbox" Testing and HTML5
The main intent of releasing on itch at this point is to provide a publicly available access point for playtesting. Originally the idea was to release for desktop and eventually mobile (with a rework for on screen touch controls - still haven't figured out how this will work yet). But now we have pivoted to an HTML5 release so the game can easily be played an tested.
So far it hasn't incurred too many huge headaches, other than the fact that I had to ditch the GodotJolt physics engine (which works way better than the vanilla one...) and a couple of rendering things. There have been lots of fun lessons learned from a technical standpoint so far.
That's it for this one. Hopefully we get lots of good (and bad too, that's okay...) feedback!
